ATSM#138 Dotty for Bunnies

Tuesday, March 31, 2015

It's time for another Addicted to Stamps and More challenge!  This week we are featuring holiday cards.

Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Stamps:

Stitchy Bear has kindly offered 3 images up to $10 for the prize this week!

So of course with Easter just around the corner, had to make an Easter card right?

Not much stamping this time around.  The bunnies were die cut in small dot patterns and are dressed up with sweet little bows, some rhinestones and fluffy little cotton tails.  Some simple layering with a rectangle in large dots and an oval in a medium dot pattern.  The sentiment has been stamped on a stitched tag and I added a few more rhinestones to it too.

All in all, a quick design to make up if you're in need of some last minute cards :)

Here's What I Used:
Paper:  Neenah Solar White 120# card stock, Simple Stories Snap Color Vibe papers and MME Rosy papers
Ink:  Ranger Jet Black Archival ink
Stamps:  Clearly Besotted
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro; Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Rectangles, Stitched Ovals, Bunnies and Bows dies; MFT Stitched Traditional Tags die-namics, rhinestones, cotton batting, adhesives

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Neenah Solar White

All the other stuff:  sequins, rhinestones, adhesive

Dazzling Diva #68 You are Fabulous

Wednesday, March 25, 2015

It's Wednesday, and you know what that means...time for another Dazzling Diva Challenge! Here's our inspiration for our weekly challenge:

As, I'm making my card, we are under another snowfall warning.  I have my fingers crossed that it will miss us.  So, in an effort to focus on something much more enjoyable...flowers and butterflies it is!

I have some gorgeous new floral paper that had the feel of the florals on the cup, so that's where I started. Next I die cut the butterflies, so I could place my craft metal behind them.  Then I added a little embossed butterfly trail.  The sentiment is a die cut that comes with the paper package.  I finished it off with a few rhinestones.  Yes, I know...rhinestones Lee-Anne???  I can't put sequins on every card I make...can I??? *grin*

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Gina K. ivory and Kaisercraft All That Glitters
Ink:  none
Stamps:  none
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro, Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Butterflies die set, misc. rhinestones and

Paper:  Neenah Solar White
Ink:  Avery Elle Lemon Grass, Ranger Jet Black Archival

More Homework from Stretch Your Dies

Sunday, March 22, 2015

I'm back with some more homework from the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Dies class.  Dawn Woleslagle from WPlus9 showed us a fabulous die technique and I finally found some time to play with it.

Although, time-consuming, it's a great technique that could work for so many matching stamp and die sets.

You'll see below that there's no teal paper used...that's because I used my Copic marker to color some white card stock to match the color on the bunny collars and flowers.

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Neenah Solar White and vellum
Ink:  Ranger Watering Can Archival, Hero Arts Pool Mid-Tone
Stamps:  MFT Somebunny Loves You
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro, Somebunny BB Die-namics, masking paper, Copic markers, Copic Airbrush system, Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine sequins, Wink of Stella, adhesives

Dazzling Diva #67

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

With the weather finally improving, spring is on my mind!  And this gorgeous inspirational picture for the Dazzling Diva challenge certainly fits the bill!

The first thing that caught my eye was the rusted watering can, then the tulips and then the gorgeous blue eggs.  And that's where the inspiration photo took me:

I have to say, I love working with craft metal!  This time, I die cut it, embossed it and then colored it with my PITT artist big brush pens to give the illusion of a time worn patina.  I've also cut the watering can in a heavy black card stock and adhered it behind the metal watering can to give the illusion of a  shadow.  It was also popped it up on dimensional foam.

Did some "messy" water coloring of the tulips, added more watercolor to the background and then some splashes of the brown tint.  A simple stamped sentiment in black and for my water...sequins.

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Ranger Distress Watercolor paper, Gina K. black and Bazzill Marshmallow
Stamps:  Technique Tuesday and Avery Elle
Ink:  Ranger Jet Black Archival and Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough, Vintage Photo and Brushed Corduroy Distress Inks
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro, Clearly Besotted Garden Fresh die, Ecstasy Crafts embossing folder, PITT artist big brush pens, sequins and adhesives.

Here's a link to the craft metal I used today:

Hello everyone and Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I'm back with my Design Team card for Addicted to Stamps and More.  Our theme this week is "anything goes"

And here's my card:

I've used some Brushos on watercolor paper and then die cut the branches from that.  Next I stamped the sentiment and added a popped up frame.  Then I glued the branches into place and added a smattering of sequins.

Online Card Classes Stretch Your Dies Day 2

My homework for day two of the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Dies class:

This is not a CAS card by any means.  Lots of steps and lots of fun!  Kristina Werner showed us this amazing technique today with floral dies! And I couldn't wait to play, but had something else in mind!

I've water colored paper with a Distress Ink and a few Brusho colors.  There are also die-cuts in craft metal, as well as the sentiment, which I've backed in black card stock to make it a bit more prominent.

And here's a close-up that shows the gorgeous metal, the effect from the Brushos;  and the dimension achieved by this technique:

Seriously, if you haven't taken any of these classes, this is a great one to start with!

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Neenah Solar White and Strathmore 140# watercolor
Stamps:  not a one!
Ink:  Picked Raspberry Distress Ink
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro, Winnie & Walter Big Bang Confetti Cutaways, Winnie & Walter In a Word: Cheers Cutaways, Winnie & Walter The Party Confetti Cutaways, foam adhesive, Add a Little Dazzle craft metal in Lovely Lavender and the reverse side of the metal (silver), Brushos, Simon Says Stamp Balloon die

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #6

Time for another One Layer Christmas card challenge...and that means I have one more card completed for Christmas.  And that's one less card I'll need to scramble and make in December right?

As always, it's an anything goes challenge, but with an optional twist of circles.

Perhaps this should be captioned  "homage to a snowman".  LOL  It's sort of my quirky, but elegant, take on a snowman...unassembled.

And, if you are looking for a quick card...this fits the bill.  I simply embossed the three circles, heat embossed the sentiment and added the sequins.  Easy peasy!

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Neenah Solar White
Ink:  Versamark
Stamps:  Hero Arts
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro, Lil' Inkers Stitched Circles, E.K. Success powder tool, Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder, heat tool, Simon Says Stamp sequins and adhesive

Would love for you to play along!  Using the optional twist will get you an entry into the monthly random drawing.  Every card that you enter with the twist = 1 entry into the drawing and you can enter as many times as you'd like!

Online Card Classes Stretch Your Dies Day 1

Monday, March 16, 2015

I'm taking yet another Online Card Class.  Cannot say enough about these classes;  I learn a lot each and every class. These ladies always have some new ideas, products, techniques to work with and it's just plain fun!

Jennifer McGuire gave us some ideas on working with fun foam.  Yup, fun foam!  Something I haven't played with before.

Our weather has been absolutely wonderful and spring is definitely in the air, hence the theme of my card today!

The sun has been sponged with some Distress Inks,  The bluebird and sentiment have been die-cut from fun foam.  The bird was colored the Copics and then for a little sparkle some Wink of Stella marker.  My usual smattering of sequins and done!

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Neenah Solar White and Echo Park Dots and Stripes
Ink:  Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey Distress Inks
Stamps:  not a one :)
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro, white fun foam, circle die for creating the mask to sponge, Winnie and Walter The Big, the Bold and Seasons cutaways, PTI bird die, Copic marker, adhesives, Simon Says Stamp sequins

Mixed Media Tag

Friday, March 13, 2015

Haven't played in a mixed media challenge in quite some time!  Saw the Mix-Ability Challenge at Splitcoaststampers this morning and decided to play.

I've used some techniques from Tim's March 2015 tag, namely using his tissue tape beneath some Distress Paints.

Taking a manilla tag, I've added some tissue tape randomly and then smooshed it into a mix of Distress Paints.  Next it was misted with water and then I dried it with my heat tool.  Added some arrows with Ranger Archival Ink and Tim's stencil.  Then I added a few of Tim's Remnant Rub-Ons. See that little bird stepping from the arrows onto the star? He's a Remnant Rub-On, as well as the birds on the wire at the top of the tag.   Then, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in gold.  It's been surrounded by some gorgeous craft metal die cut with Tim's Weathered Clock die.  Next, I added a few of Tim's Mirrored Stars and finally, I hand dyed some seam binding in coordinating colors to finish off my tag.

If you haven't played with craft metal, you are seriously missing out on some fun!  It's easily die cut, embossed, colored and then some!  And with metallics being front and center this year...the perfect medium for your cards and other projects.

Dazzling Diva #66

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Oh, we have a lovely Spring mood board to share with you today!  What fabulous inspiration for the Dazzling Diva challenge:

And here's my take on it:

Today, I've provided a step-out tutorial so you can see exactly how this came together:

Step one:
Cut a card base to a finished size of 4.25" x 5.5"
Cut the frame from the same color card stock

Step two:
Stamp raindrop image on the card front in gray
Color with a Distress Marker, paintbrush, and water

Step three:
Die cut clouds, lightning bolts, and sequins in craft metal
Die cut more sequins in vellum

Step four:
Stamp sentiment in black

Step five:
Cut front of shaker card from transparency
Adhere it to the back of  the frame
Add foam adhesive to the back of the frame

Step six:
Use temporary adhesive to keep card front from popping up
Place sequins on the middle of the card front

Step seven:
Add the metal die cuts to the front of the shaker frame with Ranger Glossy Accents.
Place the shaker frame on top of the card base, remove your temporary adhesive and done!

Here's a close up of the sequins in the shaker card:

This metal is SO versatile...

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Neenah Solar White and vellum
Ink:  Ranger Jet Black and Watering Can Archival
Stamps:  Designs by Ryn Hanging Droplet set, Lil' Inker Designs (Katie Vaz) Dance in the Rain
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro, MFT die-namics Stitched Rectangle frames, Lil' Inker Cut It Out Clouds and Accessories die set, We R Memory Keepers Confetti shaped die, paint brush, Broken China Distress Marker, foam adhesive, Ranger Glossy Accents, temporary adhesive

And, of course, Add a Little Dazzle Craft metal:
