Vellum HB to You

Today is Day One of the Stenciled Online Card Class.  We started out with basic inking and masking with a whole lot of fabulous tips!  If you haven't taken classes from them before...check it out!

For my homework today, I've taken a technique from the incomparable Debby Hughes.  Love that girl!  Her style is simply amazing!

I've inked two different shades of Distress Inks through a stencil.  Then die cut the cloud in vellum.  The sentiment has been stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Here's a quick tip for attaching vellum...I love the Express-It Double Sided tape as it doesn't show.   Then for just a little bit of bling I've inked three little wood veneer stars with some Distress Paint and glued them randomly on the card.

Very simple and lots of fun.  This would definitely work for a gal or guy!

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Gina K. pure luxury white and SU! vellum
Ink:  Shaded Lilac Distress Ink, Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and Versamark
Stamps:  Hero Arts
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro, MFT Jumbo Cloud Stax, sponges, Memory Box Texture Honey Comb designer stencil,  Hero Arts white embossing powder, heat gun, Express-It Double Sided High Tack Tape, Brushed Pewter Distress Paint and Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars

Back soon with more...

  1. This is very nice, I like how you switched it up a bit from the class lesson. Great job!

  2. Great idea to use a cloud instead of a label! Fabulous card!

  3. LOVE! So creative Lee-Anne. Love the cloud sentiment. And those wooden stars are so sweet! Loll xx

  4. Perfection! A+ for your homework today!

  5. Love that inked stencil background and the pretty vellum overlay!

  6. Oh, my goodness! I did not sign up for this class because I already have too many products and tools and techniques on my "need to try/do" list ... but, gosh, your card is really beautiful, Lee-Anne! Really beautiful!! You get an A+++ Hugs, Darnell

  7. Okay, I got so excited over your cards that I may have already commented on this one. I'm saving the links so I can sort of CAS. :-) This is just lovely and I really like how you layered, sponged the color and then used that beautiful sentiment!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on my blog. You've made my day!
