We'll Miss You Julia

It's the color challenge today over at Splitcoast and today we're saying goodbye to one of our esteemed hostesses, Julia.  Julia's style is clean and classy, and her cards are fabulous to say the least!  We'll miss you Julia!  Our colors, in her honor...SU! Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

This card starts out with a piece of SU! Crumb Cake card stock which I've stamped with the Jumbo Dahlia images and then heat embossed them with black embossing powder.  This stamp was an amazing bargain at Michaels...$5.00!!!  It even comes with a beautiful flourish too. Thanks Debra!

Next, they were masked and I stamped the Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card background in the same color.  While the flowers were still masked, I added some Picket Fence Distress Stain to soften the color.  Then, after removing the masks, I used my marker in the same color to out line the flowers to give the effect of a shadow.

Next, I stamped the sentiment in black and added the buttons which have the required Very Vanilla twine.

Ink:  SU! Basic Black and Crumb Cake;  and Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps:  Jumbo Dahlia from Stampendous, Impression Obsession Distressed Corduroy Cover-a-Card and Verve Hope Blooms
All the other stuff:  Picket Fence Distress Stain, SU! Crumb Cake marker, MFT buttons, misc. twine
