A card to honor last week's Featured Stamper, Sabrina over at Splitcoast. Love Sabrina's style and she is such lovely person too! My inspiration came from this lovely card. The colors on Sabrina's beautiful hummingbird and the hummingbird itself were what I focused on.
I've used the layout from the Just Us Girls Challenge found here. And I also used the colors from this picture from Saturday's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast as more inspiration. Sallie suggested the fabulous MacKenzie-Childs site as inspiration and wow...that's a whole lot of inspiration.
The card starts with a 4.25" x 5.5" card base in black. Next I used some lovely silhouette stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I inked the stamps with Peeled Paint and Broken China Distress Inks and then spritzed them with a little water before stamping. Once the background/colored layer was done, then I used the same stamps with black ink and stamped over top.
Next the birds were stamped in the same colored inks randomly to look like they are flying up out of the field and finally I stamped the sentiment.
Here's what I used:
Paper: SU! Basic Black and Georgia Pacific white
Ink: Distress Inks in Peeled Paint, Broken China and Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps: Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps - Nature Silhouettes and Hero Arts Alphabet Blocks
All the other stuff: water mister, ATG
Thanks for joining me today and happy stamping!
