Love Wish Dream Birthday

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Needed a birthday card for hubby and love using Tim Holtz products for masculine cards.  I've used the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge:
And I've used the colors from Color Throwdown 217 - Basic Black, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade and Night of Navy.

I've started out with a black card base and added a piece of white card stock that's been dry embossed, distressed and the edges inked in Black Soot Distress Ink.  The blue strip is a piece of Tim Holtz Paper Stash - Kraft Resist that's been spritzed with water, crumpled, inked in Blue Jeans Distress Ink, distressed and the edges inked in Black Soot.

Next, I cut two squares and dry embossed them.  They were both sanded and then as with the previous pieces, distressed and inked the edges, again in Black Soot.  Next I added another piece of the Kraft Resist paper with the same distressing and inking technique.  On top of that is a piece of the Weathered Clock die cut that's been sanded, and inked.

For the sentiment...I stamped it in SU! Lucky Limeade, but then touched the stamp here and there with Black Soot for a little interest.  Again, more distressing and sponging on this piece.

Several pieces of various Tim Holtz idea-ology embellishments have been added...no ribbon...no bling...too frou frou for a masculine card right?

Here's what I used:
Paper:  Gina K. Pure Luxury Jet Black card stock, Georgia Pacific white card stock, Tim Holtz Paper Stash - Kraft Resist, Tim Holtz Kraft Core Nostalgic Collection (green and black)
Ink:  SU! Lucky Limeade, Distress Inks in Blue Jeans and Black Soot
Stamps:  Tim Holtz Stuff to Say
All the other stuff:  Big Shot Pro, Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die, Tim Holtz Postal embossing folder, Tim Holtz Steampunk embossing folder, Tim Holtz Collage embossing folder, Tim Holtz idea-ology Sprocket Gears, Tim Holtz idea-ology Mini Gears, Tim Holtz Game Spinners, distressing tool, sponges, craft mat, Ranger Glossy Accents and ATG

See you soon with another Christmas card!
