This card's for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge Today at Splitcoast - using some shade of pink on a holiday or Christmas card. And, it's also for the Queen for the Day Challenge honoring Julie whose gallery is absolutely stunning!
I chose to CASE this card
of Julie's in her honor. My card base is a little out of the ordinary - it's 4.5" x 6" because I wanted to use the holly embossing folder and actually see some of it. That's a piece of designer paper in the background. It's been dry embossed, then the embossed area was sanded lightly. Next, using a direct-to-paper approach, the holly was highlighted. The edges of the background were sponged with burgundy, heat set, and then I used my gold craft ink pad around the edges, and gold embossed the edges. Then, the holly berries were inked with my Versamark pen and also gold embossed.
The ornaments are stamped and embossed in gold on more designer paper from the same series. I've used the Spellbinder's holiday tags to die cut them. Now, if you have the tags you'll notice that this is the largest tag. How did I get a larger tag? I traced around the outside of the largest tag and cut it out by hand. These larger tags were also gold embossed to add more shine. They're hanging on gold cord and adorned with little black satin ribbon bows. Again, wanting to see the holly background, the sentiment was simply stamped in the lower corner in black.
